EXTRA   SPECIAL

Welcome to another adviser e-news.

CHANGE OF DEALER GROUP

The past 6 months have been a very busy time for us. After months of discussion, negotiation and sleepless nights, we made the very difficult decision to change dealer groups and after the season break, on 14 January 2008, we reopened our office under the banner of Count Financial Limited.

We regard this as the beginning of what we hope will be an exciting era.

As far as you, the adviser, is concerned the only change is to our letterhead. We will continue to offer the same high quality service on the same terms as always.

MARKET CONDITIONS

It seems as if general underwriting conditions are tougher than ever. Medical testing is getting progressively more sophisticated and the result it seems is more people being declined cover.

OUR GROWTH

It is pleasing to us that each week we seem to get at least one call from an adviser that has not used us before and our reputation seems to be growing at a rapid rate.

What is particularly pleasing is that  more of the “heavy hitters” are now calling us.

In November, one of Australia’s largest risk writers called us for help with a case that had been declined and that they could not place. We had medical evidence in our office from the company that declined the original application within 24 hours and offered the client terms within 48 hours. The policy was issued exactly one week after the original enquiry.

This type of service led the adviser’s PA to say “you are legends”.

This same adviser then sang our praises to a colleague who is also a very large writer. This adviser called us about a case that he had tried long and hard to place but had given up almost 2 years previously.

We called for current medical evidence, arranged a special test and offered the client terms within a month.

SUCCESS STORIES

We continue to have great success in placing the vast majority of the cases that you put to us.

Whilst Diabetes, Depression and Heart Disease seem to be the most “popular” conditions we are faced with, we continue to see some rare and unusual cases. Keep them coming!

RECENT CASE HISTORY

Male, 45 next birthday, SMOKER, Obese with a BMI of 39, Type I Diabetes poorly controlled, protein in the urine and has a history of a post operative clot in the lung. Looking for Term Life cover.

Sounds impossible? We offered terms.

REMEMBER, just because you can’t place it, does not mean that it can’t be placed!

Best regards.

Ian and Ricky.
